Poranguí's upbringing across Brazil, Mexico, and the U.S. immersed him in diverse musical traditions and healing practices. With a background in ethnomusicology from Duke University, he has over two decades of international experience as an artist, educator, and therapist, using sound and movement for collective well-being. As a live looping artist, Poranguí blends ancestral songs and indigenous rhythms into captivating performances. Using looping technology, he creates dynamic grooves ranging from meditative to dance-inducing, bridging the gap between performer and audience. His World Soul concerts have taken him worldwide, collaborating with artists like Shaman’s Dream and Liquid Bloom.
